Determining employment of the 91C route is urgent to meet the development needs, but the budget is difficult so Can Tho calls for BOT investment.
According to Can Tho Department of Transport, the new route is expected to be 91C with a total capital of VND 15,000 billion in the form of BOT. The route is located in the west of the city, is the external axis, connecting all industrial zones with Cai Cui port.
Road 91C is 30 km long, with 25 bridges and 9 intersections; the starting point intersects with national highway 91 in O Mon district, connecting with national highway 61C in Cai Rang district and the ending point with Nam Song Hau street, at the road leading to Cai Cui port. The planned road section is 80 m, of which 32 m in the center of the road will be reserved for later metro construction. The payback period is 30 years.
According to the leader of Can Tho City People's Committee, the locality had an idea to build this road 10 years ago, but due to difficult budget conditions and traffic requirements, it was not urgent so it was slow to deploy.
"With the current development momentum, the traffic pressure of the city is huge, so this project is becoming more urgent. But because the budget is still difficult, the locality wants to call for investment in the form of BOT, "said Can Tho leaders.
Recently, a number of interested Korean investors have come to work with Can Tho City to learn and research on this project to determine their investment ability.
