Dong Thap focuses on developing high-tech agriculture

Along with focusing on scale development, the agricultural sector is focusing on researching and promoting the application of new technical and technological advances to production. On the afternoon of September 20, the provincial People's Committee held a seminar on the orientation of developing high-tech agriculture in Dong Thap with the participation of many experts in this field. After actively constructing and transferring agricultural production models applying new techniques and high technologies, it has contributed to changing habits and backward thinking in production, achieving many outstanding results. in areas such as cultivation, animal husbandry and aquaculture. With the achieved results, the province is focusing on building high-tech agricultural zones and zones in the orientation to 2030.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang - Chairman of the Board of Ecofarm Company, the agricultural production using high technology will create sustainable development, helping farmers produce safer and higher value products. The company is currently implementing a project in Thanh Binh district on chilli, corn, vegetable and fruit trees. The company also built a new technology application model (Israel) for crops such as melon, chilli, vegetables, flowers, etc.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh My, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rynan Agrifood Company - the unit signed a cooperation agreement with Dong Thap province to bring a seminar on information about high-tech products such as: smart fertilizers, applications cloud computing and internet of things in management, improved gas packaging and oxygen response to reduce product damage etc.

The delegates all agreed and realized that high-tech agricultural production to succeed must be based on mutual benefits, the province should focus on the existing advantages. There is also the idea that, because we are lagging behind in this field, we cannot hurry, when we cannot apply high technology immediately, we can produce green and clean products to meet the needs of people. Consumption and the recent Green Agriculture Fair were a success of Dong Thap.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Hung thanked the experts and businesses for their opinions and hoped that the units would continue to accompany the province in deploying hi-tech agricultural production. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung also requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to acknowledge the contributions to prepare for the upcoming planning steps.
