Ha Long bay has nearly 2,000 islets spanning over 1,553 squ. km in the northeast sea. It is one of the UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Sites.

Hon Dinh Huong (incense burner-shaped island), to the southwest of the Ha Long Bay, is printed on the 200,000 VND bill. 
Hon Ga Choi, aka Hon Trong Mai (Rooster and Hen islands), to the southwest of Ha Long Bay, has become one of the icons of the bay in particular and Vietnam’s tourism in general.
