Becamex ITC has registered to invest in a software park in Hanoi for VND24 trillion ($1.1 billion).
The park will be located along the Nhat Tan - Noi Bai road, covering 70.8 hectares.
The park is a project initiated by the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications. It is considered Hanoi’s key IT and digital content project in the near future.
It is expected that the park will attract over 40,000 employees.
This will be an IT park meeting international standards, which will create foundations for the strong development of the city’s information technology sector.
This project was initiated at the time that the city defined IT as the key industry.
Last year, the city asked for the government’s permission to establish the Hanoi software park in Long Bien District, and early this year the project was approved.
The project will be developed by Hanel Corporation, at the cost of over VND10,500 billion on more than 43 hectares. The construction is scheduled to finish in 2019.
Hanoi has only one IT park, in Cau Giay District, which is now full, with over 300 firms.
Becamex ITC is a big corporation based in the southern province of Binh Duong. It has 28 subsidiaries operating in various fields like securities, finance, insurance, banking, construction, trade, real estate, services, IT, building materials, mining, pharmaceutical, health care and education.
Becamex IDC has invested in several industrial zones in Binh Duong, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong./.
