HCM City facilitates development of businesses

Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Dinh La Thang and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong affirmed that the city will co-ordinate and support businesses at a meeting with the business community in the city on March 7.

Currently, the number of registered businesses in the city reached 36,500, with a total registered capital of VND293,610 billion, representing increases of 16% in number and 42.18% in capital.

These achievements have contributed to the city’s socio-economic development, job creation, social security and welfare, growth quality and competitiveness, said Mr. Phong.

The city focuses on developing economics at high levels, making contribution to the global value chain, enhancing development based on creativeness, intellectual content, advanced technology and high capacity.

With the aim of establishing a completed start-up ecosystem for 500,000 businesses by 2020 and becoming a smart urban area, the city expects to have corporations ranking in top 500 world’s leading businesses.

The Chairman asserted that the city’s authorities commit to joining with businesses, tackling difficulties and obstacles and facilitating businesses. 

Mr. Dinh La Thang confirmed that the administrative institution reform is identified as one of the key issues in establishing breakthrough policies and mechanisms to create foundations for the fast and sustainable development of the city.

Leaders of the city pressed the button to make debut of the portal hotro.hiephoidoanhnghiep.vn, a tool for connecting businesses with State agencies to improve the business environment and business development.
