Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on March 19 handed over investment certificates to eight projects with the total investment capital of more than $1 billion at a conference to review the operations of a working group set up to promote the business climate in the city.

The Vietnam Immigration Department and the relevant agencies have jointly issued visas for nearly 3,000 foreigners comprising experts, investors, managers and highly-skilled employees to enter HCMC for work since July this year, according to data from the HCMC Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The first quarter saw a 54.5 percent year-on-year surge in the number of HCMC enterprises completing dissolution procedures.
