PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc called on the northern province of Hung Yen to strive for 16,000 SMEs by 2020, two times higher than the current figure.

The Government chief made the request while working with local leaders of Hung Yen on December 11 on local socio-economic performance.
The PM hoped that the province will optimize its advantages and enhance competitiveness for more rapid and sustainable development.
He asked the province to increase a provincial competitiveness index equal to the average level of the region in 2017-2018, while mobilizing resources for the building of the socio-economic infrastructure system, promoting production and improving products’ quality, and developing high technology agriculture.
Hung Yen should also pay more attention to human resources development and the application of high technology, while ensuring social security for locals, he said, adding that the province should further boost tourism in line with the conservation and promotion of cultural values.
The PM also requested the locality to strengthen the prevention and combat of corruption and wastefulness, while effectively implementing the Party’s resolution on Party building and the Politburo’s direction on strengthening the study and following of the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh.
