A common way of growing water hyacinth is that people often gather baby hyacinth bushes floating on the river, then use fins. After only about two months, water hyacinth height from 60-70cm is harvested. Buy hyacinth prices at home are now VND 16,000 / kg dry hyacinth. A fresh (1,000m2) hyacinth can be harvested from 600-700kg dry hyacinth.

Dry hyacinth weaving has created jobs and brought income to many people in Hau Giang today. A normal laborer can also earn on average 50,000 VND / day. Hyacinth weaving has helped many farmers gain jobs in their spare time, which is also a very effective way to reduce poverty in rural areas.
