Vinamilk (VNM) 2022 financial report showed that Mai Kieu Lien is a member of the board of directors and CEO of the nation’s leading dairy producer.
Lien has worked there since the first days of establishment and has been CEO for the last 30 years.
Vinamilk, with leadership by Lien, operates in the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. It is seen as a success story in equitization.
In 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic adversely affected the global economy, but Vinamilk maintained its good business performance with revenue for the first time exceeding VND60 trillion. In 2022, its revenue was higher than VND60 trillion and post-tax profit was VND8.7 trillion.
Holding two key positions at Vinamilk, Lien was estimated to receive remuneration of VND6.5 billion in 2022 in total. Of this, VND2 billion came from the post of member of the board of directors and VND366 million a month from the post of CEO. As such, she received VND538 million a month for the two posts.
Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh, president of REE
Refrigeration Electrical Engineering (REE) Corporation’s Q4 2022 showed that the wage and remuneration paid to Thanh in the quarter was VND1.1 billion, which meant that she received VND367 million a month.
The level was high, but it was still lower than the VND1.5 billion she received I the same period 2021, when she got VND500 million a month on average.
In 2022, REE had total revenue of VND9.3 trillion, up by 60 percent over the year before, and post-tax profit of VND3.5 trillion, up 66 percent.
Its total assets increased from VND31.8 trillion earlier that year to VND33.9 trillion, while total debts decreased from VND15.469 trillion to VND14.7 trillion.
Thanh was born in 1952 in Trang Bang district in Tay Ninh province. Graduating from university majoring in mechanical engineering, she married a Vietnamese doctor in chemistry in Germany and they returned to Vietnam, where she worked as an engineer for a refrigeration enterprise in HCM City.
In 1992, Thanh successfully led the enterprise’s process of equitization and became one of the joint stock enterprises with capital contributions from the state, workers and foreign investors. In 1993, REE was established.

It was estimated that each member of the board of management received VND111.8 million a month, while the figure was VND128.8 million for each member of the board of directors and chief accountant.
Taking two positions as vice president and CEO, Thao received VND240.6 million a month in Q4.
In 2022, Vietjet carried 20.5 million passengers and provided 116,000 flights. Domestic passenger transport grew by 20 percent compared with 2019, which was the key factor for the recovery.
